In its 19th year, the 2017 Alphabet Affair raised more money than any of its predecessors; themed around the letter "S", it was a night filled with silly and stylish attire. This year's recipient of the Literacy Leader Hall of Fame, Betsy Delgado of Goodwill, is no stranger to challenging the education system here in Indiana. Delgado highlighted the work that she and Goodwill are accomplishing to educate adults both in Indiana and across the country, through the Excel Center program.

The highlight of the evening was hearing from one of our tutors that shared the journey that she and her student, Kalvin, have been on for the last 9 years. This story demonstrated the impact that Indy Reads has on the residents of central Indiana.
