ALPHABET AFFAIR FAQ
What is Alphabet Affair?
Alphabet Affair is Indy Reads' annual fundraiser, and a celebration of the strides made on behalf of adult and family literacy in Central Indiana.
Event guests can expect great food, signature drinks and cocktails from four Indiana brewers and distillers, and great items for bid in our silent auction.
What is the dress code?
Alphabet Affair is cocktail attire recommended, and themed costume optional. Each year, dozens of guests get dressed up in costumes inspired by each year's presenting letter — in this case, the letter T!
Is there a costume contest?
Sure is! If you dress up and want to compete, there will be a Parade of Costumes immediately following the cocktail reception, and your fellow attendees will vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a very special prize from Indy Reads, so you'll want to work the crowd to make sure everyone knows your name and costume!
Will there be opportunities to give at the event?
Absolutely. In addition to ticket sales, table sponsorships, and the silent auction, there will be a giving challenge offered at Alphabet Affair where your gift can be matched and your impact will be doubled.
Who else will attend?
You may have heard of a few of our special guests:
President James & Bethanie Danko, Butler University
Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
2018 Literacy Hall of Fame Honoree
Mayor Joe Hogsett, City of Indianapolis
