The twenty first annual Alphabet Affair, benefiting Indy Reads, took place Saturday, September 21, 2019. It was a great success and we have you to thank!

With the generous support and donations from our sponsors, attendees, volunteers and auction bidders, we are thrilled to report that you helped us raise more than $75,000 (and still counting!) for Indy Reads! Here are a few examples of how you are empowering families and adults through literacy:

• 50 adults will be able to get their driver’s license and improve their access to quality employment after increasing their reading ability.
• $35,000 will support an entire class of 20 adults as they improve their literacy level so they can gain better employment to provide for their families. This includes a teacher’s salary, curriculum development, testing, supplies, computer access, outside classroom learning access and more. Students dedicate more than 100 hours on average to improve their lives.
• 100 adults will be equipped to prepare for and ace their next interview, increasing their earning potential to be able to break the cycle of poverty in their family.
• Unlimited smiles, hugs and high-fives as adults take pride in their learning and ability to create a better life for themselves.
