SUMMARY:Poetry Reading: Tracy Mishkin
DESCRIPTION:Join Tracy Mishkin on July 14th at 2pm for a reading\, discussion\, and signing of her new poetry collection\, ‘The Way the Salt Falls!’\n\n\nJoin Tracy Mishkin on July 14th at Indy Reads from 2-4pm for a reading of her new poetry collection\, The Way Salt Falls! \nThere will be a reading\, discussion\, and a signing to follow. \nThis event is recommended for ages 13+. \nAll proceeds from book sales at Indy Reads support our English literacy programming. \n\n\n\nThe Way The Salt Falls \nThe Way The Salt Falls is about failing and trying to do better on a personal and political level. The poems are written both from Tracy’s perspective and from those of other peoples: a visual artist\, a refugee\, an elderly man\, Jacob from the book of Genesis\, a cancer survivor\, a bureaucrat. They are all people: people who survived sexual assault\, who struggle to live up to their parents’ wishes\, who have been addicted to drugs\, who have a relationship like a cracked dam\, who have lived without a home\, who just want to do better. \n\n\n\nMeet the Author: Tracy Mishkin \nTracy Mishkin recently published her first full-length book of poetry\, The Way The Salt Falls\, with Main Street Rag Publishing Company. She is also the author of three chapbooks\, I Almost Didn’t Make It to McDonald’s (Finishing Line Press\, 2014)\, The Night I Quit Flossing (Five Oaks Press\, 2016)\, and This is Still Life (Brain Mill Press\, 2018). A graduate of the MFA program in Creative Writing at Butler University\, she lives in Indianapolis with her family and fewer than ten cats and dogs. \n \nRead sample poems and purchase Tracy’s new book: \nhttps://mainstreetragbookstore.com/product/the-way-salt-falls-tracy-mishkin/ \n \nCheck out more poems at her website\, www.tracymishkin.com \n \nTracy’s chapbooks are available on Amazon: \nhttps://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B000API1ZG/about and in person. \n\n\n\nThis event is Pay-What-You-Can. Here’s what your suggested donation can do for the Indy Reads community: \nFREE – This ticket is for attendees that would like to attend this event and are unable to purchase a ticket. Indy Reads values our community and facilitators. We are proud to provide programming to all. Thank you for being a part of our community! \n$10 – This donation covers the cost of one attendee to this event.
