DESCRIPTION:Join Indy Reads on the first and third Sundays of each month at 12pm to learn how to crochet with us!\n\n\nJoin Indy Reads for a cozy\, all-languages Crochet Circle hosted by volunteer Kayla B. on the first and third Sundays of each month! \nPlease note that Crochet Circles will be rescheduled when Indy Reads is closed on a first Sunday. \nThis is a free event for all ages. Crocheters of all levels can come together to meet other crocheters in the community! \nWe will teach you how to crochet if you have never crocheted before. \nIf you have crocheted before\, join us to crochet while making new friends! \nCrochet hooks and yarn will be provided. Supplies may be limited. \n\n\n\nKayla B. is a graduate student at IU Indianapolis and has recently begun volunteering at Indy Reads. She has been crocheting for 5 years and can most frequently be found curled up with her cat and a good book. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is Pay-What-You-Can. Here’s what your suggested donation can do for the Indy Reads community: \nFREE – This ticket is for attendees that would like to attend this event and are unable to purchase a ticket. Indy Reads values our community and facilitators. We are proud to provide programming to all. Thank you for being a part of our community! \n$10 – This donation covers the cost of one attendee to this event. Indy Reads strives to bring the very best programming to Fountain Square and all Hoosiers. DESCRIPTION:Join Indy Reads on Sunday\, November 1\, from 1:00-3:00 PM to celebrate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead)!\n\n\nJoin Indy Reads on Sunday\, November 1\, 2026 from 1-3pm for a celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead)! \nEnjoy a special presentation from Indy Reads students Victor and Lacha\, followed by face painting\, flower headband crafting\, and a community catrina walk. Celebrate with music\, art\, and plenty of community spirit! \nHelp build our community ofrenda (alter)! Bring a photo or small memento of a loved one\, pet\, or someone you’d like to honor and remember during the celebration. \nWe look forward to learning and celebrating with you! \n\n\nMeet the Hosts! \n\n\nLacha \n\n\n\nHi\, my name is Edelsys Lachataignerais Bonet\, but everyone calls me Lacha. I am from Cuba. I am a biochemist. I have two children: Camilo and Elisa.My son\, Camilo\, is a dancer with Indianapolis Ballet and is currently enrolled in college studying Business Administration. My daughter\, Elisa\, was studying to be a civil engineer in Cuba. \nWe all went to Indy Reads for English classes and English practice during Conversation Circles in the bookstore. When I started classes at Indy Reads\, I was working in a restaurant as a busser. After I graduated from Indy Reads last year\, I applied for a job as a Greenhouse Manager with Flanner House. I was very nervous because of my English. Ruba and Daisy helped me practice for my interview. I got the job! My daughter also works as a Child Development Assistant at Flanner House. \nWe still practice English on Sundays in the bookstore. Indy Reads is like our family here. \n\n\nVictor \n\n\n\nVictor Granados began his English-learning journey with Indy Reads in the spring of 2023. Before moving from Mexico in 2022\, Victor taught literature at various high schools before founding his own consulting agency. Victor is the proud father of a son who still lives in Mexico. When he’s not in class\, he can be found hosting Spanish Conversation Circles at Indy Reads on the second Sunday of each month. \n\n\nThis event is Pay-What-You-Can.
