Indy Reads Writing Series: Paint & Write with Téa Franco & Samantha Fain

For this workshop, we’ll discuss ekphrasis, or poems and stories that reference art, but this time with a twist! Attendees will spend the first half of the workshop creating artwork of their very own. After their masterpieces are complete, there will be an art swap where attendees write a story or poem about their peer’s artwork. This event is family-friendly, beginner-friendly (however, we’re pretty sure experienced writers would have fun with this too!), and open to the public.

Téa Franco is a fiction writer based in Indianapolis. She received an MFA in fiction writing and has literary works published in Barrelhouse Magazine, Barren Magazine, Foglifter press, and others. She has served as a fiction editor at Mid-American Review and Okay Donkey Magazine. Téa is a co-editor of the Taylor Swift- inspired anthology, Kiss Your Darlings.

Samantha Fain is a writer from Indiana. Her chapbooks Coughing Up Planets and sad horse music debuted in 2021. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Indianapolis Review, Peach Mag, A Flame Called Indiana: An Anthology of Contemporary Hoosier Writing, and others. She co-edited Kiss Your Darlings: A Taylor Swift Anthology.
