This monthly event is recommended for adults age 18+. Some of Katherine’s favorite books are The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins\, the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riodian\, and the Legendborn series by Tracy Deon. Gya Torres Gya is a lover of all things Romance. Her favorite way to read is via audiobooks and will definitely have all kinds of trophy books to celebrate her favorite reads. She also loves to read about feminist movements\, social justice\, and memoirs. Gya loves to read multiple books at once\, since she is a mood reader and needs to find the right book for the right moment. Currently she is indulging in Katee Robert’s latest novel\, Tender Cruelty the 9th book in the Dark Olympus series. At the same time she is physically reading Mutual Aid by Dean Spade\, and I\, Medusa by Ayana Grey. This event is Pay-What-You-Can. We will learn the basics of how to play together. This includes the basics of roleplaying\, the dice\, how to read a character sheet\, classes\, simple combat\, and more! \n\n\n\n5:30pm-8pm: Play Dungeons & Dragons! Using what you have learned in the first hour\, Dungeon Master (DM) Logan Taylor will take you through a short\, 2-hour adventure where you can test your character in a fantasy world. \n\n\n\nThis recurring event is recommended for ages 13+. DESCRIPTION:Join Indy Reads on the third Friday of each month\, 5pm-8pm\, to learn and play Dungeons & Dragons! All levels welcome. \n\n\n\nJoin Dungeon Master (DM) Logan Taylor for Dungeons & Dragons at Indy Reads on the third Friday of each month\, 5pm-8pm! \n\n\n\nDungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a roleplaying game where players create characters and roll dice to complete quests. This program is designed for people who have never played before\, as well as players who want to make new friends in short campaigns. \n\n\n\n5pm-5:30pm: Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons! We will learn the basics of how to play together. This includes the basics of roleplaying\, the dice\, how to read a character sheet\, classes\, simple combat\, and more! \n\n\n\n5:30pm-8pm: Play Dungeons & Dragons! Using what you have learned in the first hour\, Dungeon Master (DM) Logan Taylor will take you through a short\, 2-hour adventure where you can test your character in a fantasy world. \n\n\n\nThis recurring event is recommended for ages 13+. Space is limited to 7 players per session. Register ahead to secure your spot! \n\n\n\nDice\, character sheets\, and any maps\, minis\, or terrain that we need will be provided. Happy adventuring; we’ll see you soon! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLogan Taylor is a writer and teacher working in Indianapolis. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Latin and English from Wabash College. This monthly event is recommended for adults age 18+. Gya Torres Gya is a lover of all things Romance. Her favorite way to read is via audiobooks and will definitely have all kinds of trophy books to celebrate her favorite reads. Performers of all art forms welcome!\n\n\nJoin us for Indy Reads Lit Stage on the last Wednesday* of each month at 6pm (except when Indy Reads is closed for holidays). \n*Please note\, Indy Reads has rescheduled May’s Lit Stage from May 27th to May 20th at 6pm.  \nThe word Lit is short for literacy\, the mission of Indy Reads! Lit is also a popular Black cultural word that means something is entertaining or exciting. \nThe Lit Stage open mic welcomes people of all ages\, art forms\, and languages to share your talents with our shared community. Open mic performances can include singing\, monologues\, skits\, dancing\, comedy\, poetry and essay reading\, and more! \nPerformers are welcome to use the stage area\, podium\, and microphone. We ask that performances keep to about 5 minutes. Participants can perform again if time allows. \nPlease note the Lit Stage open mic is family-friendly.
