
Endangered Planet: Poetry Slam and Open Mic with BOOTH

The Event
Indy Reads and Booth (students, faculty, and alumni from the Butler University MFA program) are excited to partner to host our first Endangered Planet: Poetry Slam and Open Mic.
We welcome poets of all ages . The Slam & Open Mic is family-friendly – no curse words or explicit language will be permitted. Our Slam will begin at 6:30pm followed by the Open Mic.
Advanced registration is required for those wanting to be part of the Slam. Please email Bek Primrose at bprimrose@butler.edu to secure your spot by 5pm, on Friday, April 21.
The Slam will have 10 slots. Judges will score each poem (no longer than three minutes) from 1-10. The three of those that have the highest points will move onto the second round. The person with the highest points during that second round will be the winner.
Prizes include:
–Second and third place will receive a copy of Booth X
–First place will receive $25 + Booth 17 + a free used book from Indy Reads
Open Mic sign-ups will be accepted at the Indy Reads bookstore starting at 6pm on April 22.
