We’d like to welcome Jennifer Malins to the Indy Reads team as our new Instructional Team Lead! Jennifer has 10 years of experience providing literacy and English language instruction to adult learners. She spent several years as a Center Director at Lindamood-Bell, a company that provides scientifically-validated programs to develop the underlying processes needed for reading and comprehension. This gave her the skills needed to work with some of the most challenging literacy students, including those with learning disabilities related to reading. Jennifer has also taught ELL classes to adults at a refugee resettlement organization, two school districts and a private organization overseas, giving her a broad range of exposure and a well-rounded approach to teaching. She has studied several foreign languages, which gives her additional insight regarding her students as well as a great sense of empathy. When she’s not reading a book, she’s either writing, practicing her foreign language skills, experimenting in the kitchen, or ice skating.
We are excited that Jennifer brings such varied leadership and teaching experience to Indy Reads!
