Indy Reads is advancing social equity through literacy in central Indiana
Indy Reads’ mission is to build the literacy, English language, and job readiness skills to empower adults and families to reach their full potential. And, our vision is simple: 100% literacy for all.
We are working to make our vision of 100% of literacy for all a reality by providing:
- Free adult literacy classes,
- English language classes and tutoring for adults, and,
- Workforce certification programs and skills training to adults through our virtual and in-person Community Classrooms at Indy Reads and other locations throughout Marion County.

- Margot L. Eccles Arts & Culture Fund, a CICF Fund grants Indy Reads two awards to promote literacy in central Indiana Indy Reads announced this week that it has been awarded two grants, totaling $125,000, from the Margot L. Eccles Arts & Culture Fund, a CICF fund, for general operating support and a new, innovative program: Literacy Through Art: Unlocking Student Artists.
