The Greater Indianapolis Literacy League, Inc. (d.b.a. Indy Reads), has created this Privacy Policy to explain what information the organization collects, why it collects particular information and how we will protect your privacy and personal data.

This Privacy Policy notifies you of:

What Information We Collect and How We Use That Information

Our registration forms require users to give us contact information that may include name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. text), address, interests and similar information. Indy Reads does not request or store sensitive information from visitors to our websites, such as credit card or social security numbers via our servers.

Processing donations/gifts or purchases of event registrations, bookstore merchandise, or other items where credit card information is required are managed by third-party software and do not interact with Indy Reads infrastructure. Please see the "Other Websites" section below.

Donor Information

For your privacy, Indy Reads does not sell, rent, lend or exchange our mailing or contributor lists.

Personal information such as name, email and physical address collected online or offline is not shared or sold.

Internet Protocol Address

We collect an IP address from all visitors to our websites, including, but not limited to, indyreads.org and indyreadsbooks.org. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet.

We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, track users’ movement among various pages of our website, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and to deliver customized, personalized content.

IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Use of “Cookies”

Our site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our site. Cookies are pieces of information that some websites transfer to the computer that is browsing that website and are used for recordkeeping purposes at many websites. Use of cookies makes Web surfing easier by performing certain functions, such as saving your passwords and your personal preferences regarding your use of the particular website, and making sure you don’t see the same ad repeatedly. Once transmitted to us, the information you provide is retained as part of a secure database that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of Indy Reads.

Tell-A-Friend

If a user elects to use a referral service for informing a friend about our site, the user will be asked for the friend’s name and email address. Indy Reads will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site, subscribe to our mailing list, or perform another action based on the request submitted via the referral service.
