Children’s Reading: María Rosana Mestre

Join us on Friday, October 18 at 7pm for a children’s reading with author María Rosana Mestre!
She will read from her book, Carlota Shares Her Secret – Carlota Cuenta Su Secre, which is English-Spanish.
She will also read from her book, Trato Feito-Trato Hecho, which is Spanish-Portuguese.
This reading is open to children and their caregivers of all ages.
María Rosana Mestre believes imagination should be protected and defended in all children with any language. Born in Venezuela, she a linguist, passionate about reading, writing, translating and teaching World Languages. She runs Spanish For Entities, a language institute. María received an MA in Literature Studies from Universidade Federal do Paraná (Brazil, 2013), a postgraduate degree in Creative Communications from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain, 2008), and a BA in Print Journalism from the Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacín (Venezuela, 2006).
Carlota Shares Her Secret – Carlota Cuenta Su Secreto (English-Spanish)
Pass it on! A precocious young girl learns how quickly a story can spread—and change—when her playful secret is told and then retold throughout her hometown. All she has to do is stand back and fall into fits of giggles as the story changes once again. No one’s guessed her secret right just yet!
Trato Feito- Trato Hecho (Spanish- Portuguese)
The old mouse tames his survival by making several deals with a precious rat. In the first deal, they exchange food for jewels, and in the second, they change the reality of everyone in the story.
- Spanish For Entities is a language institute providing corporate Spanish courses for organizations and language and literature cultural programs for schools, agencies, companies, and non-profits. With in-company programs, in-our-place programs, and study abroad programs. It is an authorized center for SIELE testing, a Spanish language proficiency test for university education and HR.
