In the spirit of National Coming Out Day on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, drop by the Pop-Up Poetry Stand presented by Hoosier poet Joy Araujo, as she writes poems on the topic of your choice!

Looking for the words to soothe your soul? Overflowing with queer joy? Searching for the words to help express your authentic self? Come to the Poetry Pop-Up Stand with a word, a topic, or concept and Joy will type a few lines for you at no-cost! The stand will be open from 11am-1pm and all you need to do is pop in!

All proceeds from book sales at Indy Reads support our English literacy programming for nearly 500 adult students and their families each year.

Joy Araujo is queer poet that enjoys writing about the intersection of spirituality, sexuality and self-expression. She has a BA in Biblical Studies from Anderson University and an MS in Strategic Communication from Butler University. She works for a local nonprofit during the day and is working on a full-length manuscript of queer political poetry.

FREE – This ticket is for attendees that would like to attend this event and are unable to purchase a ticket. Indy Reads values our community and facilitators. We are proud to provide programming to all. Thank you for being a part of our community!

$20 – This donation covers the cost of two attendees to this event. If you are attending as an individual, your ticket at this level makes it possible for another who cannot afford a ticket to attend.
