FY2024-2025 Indy Reads Board of Directors announced 

INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Reads announced this week that it has confirmed three new board members while bidding a fond farewell to two board members who have served on the Indy Reads Board of Directors for a cumulative thirteen years.  

“We are sincerely grateful to Chad Schenkel and Christopher Scott for their many years of impactful service and leadership as members of the Indy Reads board,” Ruba Marshood, Indy Reads’ chief executive officer said. “Their service has been instrumental to Indy Reads’ success to date.”  

As Indy Reads enters its 2024-2025 program year, Marshood added, “We are thrilled to welcome Kim Compton, Dan Rojas, and Ghina Sadek to our board. These three new members will bring a demonstrated commitment to our vision of 100% literacy for all to our existing board, stewarding the next phase of our strategic plan which focuses heavily on evaluating and expanding our programs to meet the increasing need for English literacy in central Indiana,” Marshood said. 

Chad Schenkel of Crowe LLP has served on the Indy Reads Board of Directors for seven years, while Christopher Scott of Eskenazi Health has given six years of board service to the organization. Kim Compton of The Farmers Bank served as a board fellow for Indy Reads in FY2023-2024, while Dan Rojas of Cerity Partners served on the Finance Committee. Ghina Sadek of the University of Indianapolis is entering her first year of service with the organization.  

Indy Reads has also elected new board officers for FY2024-2025. Adarsh Mantravadi has been elected as the Board Chair; Jason Bearce will hold the Board Vice Chair position; Kenneth Magezi is the new Board Treasurer; and William Turner, Jr. has been elected as the new Board Secretary.
