Indianapolis, IN — (June 2, 2022) Indy Reads today announced that it has selected a new Chief Development & Communications Officer, Toby Stark. After a robust and inclusive search, Indy Reads’ CEO and board of directors are confident that Stark will take up the mantle of philanthropy for Indy Reads throughout Indianapolis and beyond.
“Stark’s career reflects the same values that Indy Reads cherishes,” said Ruba Marshood, Indy Reads’ Chief Executive Officer. “She is a strategic and compassionate leader who has a proven commitment to philanthropy, advocacy, and innovation that we believe will take Indy Reads to even greater heights.”
Stark is joining Indy Reads after several years as the President of Stark Consulting Group, LLC, a nonprofit and corporate consulting agency dedicated to child advocacy, capacity building, and program development. She also brings to Indy Reads many years of experience as the former Executive Director of Chaucie’s Place (now the Indiana Center for the Prevention of Youth Abuse & Suicide), a child advocacy organization based in Hamilton County. During her time at Chaucie’s Place, Stark spearheaded record-setting events, created and strengthened community partnerships and relationships, and increased their annual budget by nearly 300%. She currently lives in Carmel with her husband, Scott, and her two youngest children.
“As Indy Reads’ programming has expanded, there are more opportunities than ever to connect Central Indiana with the organization’s’ essential vision: 100% literacy for all,” Stark said. “I am so excited to join this team to support and grow the life-changing work Indy Reads has done with such passion and enthusiasm over the last 30 years.”
