Indy Reads Receives $25,000 Grant from The Indianapolis Foundation

The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate, has granted Indy Reads with a $25,000 award to support the operation of their adult education programs. We are so appreciative of this support and the impact it will have on our students and community.

“Indy Reads helps adults gain skills that can change the trajectory of their lives. Education is one factor that helps individuals become economically stable through higher education and work opportunities that pay a living wage.” says Indy Reads CEO, Ryan King.

A lack of educational attainment negatively affects job opportunities, household income, and mobility for individuals and families in Indianapolis and beyond. However, education amplifies opportunities, which creates better outcomes.

Indy Reads offers classes to adults from various backgrounds at all skill levels. Instruction helps adults prepare for the next stages in their education and career trajectories.

“Our organization gives adults the space to learn and grow their skills to better their lives, no matter where they come from,” says Ryan King. “We are proud to partner with CICF and the Indianapolis Foundation in their work to build a more inclusive city.”
